Hi
There always seems to be a lot of interest surrounding posts that discuss the cost of living in Thailand. One of the primary costs obviously is your accommodation.
On that topic here are a few pointers:
- Mansions are typically places where you can rent studios or apartments. You can generally rent in these buildings by going down to the reception which are open during daytime hours.
- You will likely have to pay for water and electricity separately
- You will likely need to put 2 months upfront and pay the first month so around 3 months upfront when you move in and typically the rental duration will need to be at least 6 months
- Websites like this will offer a wide range of different options (Disclaimer: no affiliation/have not rented a place from this site before):

From the research that I have done, it appears that if you move slightly away from Sukhumvit road, you can save a lot. Victory monument, the outer Silom area and toward On-Nut often have apartments available for much cheaper rates than what you will find on or right nearby Sukhumvit rd.
